UCSB Volleyball Sweeps UCLA

The Gauchos scored its first sweep over the Bruins since 1988.


The Gauchos started fast and never let up as they swept UCLA in men's volleyball for the first time since 1988.

Weston Nielson had a game-high 13 kills as the seventh-ranked Gauchos beat #5 UCLA 3-0 to move to 11-5 on the season. The Gauchos and Bruins are each 10-5 in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation standings.

The Gauchos jumped out to a 6-2 first set lead and won 25-20 and continued to impress taking the next two sets 25-19 and 25-20 as they improve to 8-1 this year at Rob Gym.

UCSB hosts UC San Diego on Friday at 7 p.m.
