Despite rising airline ticket prices and fees for everything from checked bags to changed flights, airline passengers are increasingly satisfied with their flights. Really! According to J.D. Power & Associates' new 2014 North America Airline Satisfaction Study, customer satisfaction with North American airlines is at its highest level since 2006.
The study study measured passenger satisfaction based on performance in seven factors (in order of importance): cost and fees, in-flight services, boarding/deplaning/baggage, flight crew, aircraft, check-in and reservation. Based on those results, here are America's most satisfying airlines among traditional and low-cost carriers:
Frontier Airlines -- No. 5 among low-cost carriers
AirTran -- No. 4 among low-cost carriers
WestJet Airlines -- No. 3 among low-cost carriers
Southwest Airlines - No. 2 among low-cost carriers
JetBlue Airways - No. 1 among low-cost carriers
US Airways -- No. 6 among traditional carriers
United Airlines - No. 5 among traditional carriers
Air Canada -- No. 4 among traditional carriers
American Airlines -- No. 3 among traditional carriers
Delta Airlines -- No. 2 among traditional carriers
Alaska Airlines - No. 1 among traditional carriers
