Think you've heard it all when it comes to ice cream flavors? Think again. Here's a look at just some of the world's weirdest ice cream flavors in honor of National Ice Cream Month in July:
Corn on the Cob -- This summertime staple is now available in ice cream form from Max and Mina's Homemade Ice Cream and Ices in Queens.
Haggis -- This Scottish dish made of sheep innards is traditionally served up sausage style, but comes in ice cream form at the Harrods department store in London.
Pizza -- Another creation of Max & Mina's in Queens, this pizza-flavored ice cream is a blend of fresh tomato, garlic and mozzarella.
Garlic -- A favorite at Mariani's in Santa Cruz during the Gilroy Garlic Festival in California.
Smoked Salmon -- Made with smoked salmon and cream cheese, this confection was created by Max & Mina's in Queens at the suggestion of a customer.
Sardines and Brandy -- There are a lot of weird ice cream flavors found in Japan, and this offering featuring sardines and brandy is definitely one of them.
Octopus -- Not content with wasabi and cactus, ice cream enthusiasts in Japan are going cuckoo over this octopus-flavored ice cream known as Taco Aisu.
Bacon -- OK, so after Burger King's bacon sundae, this isn't anything new, but some people are still grossed out at the thought of bacon bits in their ice cream.
Breast Milk -- Yes, you read that right. London ice cream shop The Icecreamists caused a stir when they started selling breast milk ice cream, entitled Baby Gaga. It used freshly-expressed breast milk donations from the public blended with Madagascan vanilla pods and lemon zest.
Aqutak -- An Alaskan ice cream-like food made from whipped fat, berries, sugar and leftover meat.
Coronation Chicken -- Initially created during the queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations in England, this delicacy is a take on the coronation chicken dish invented for the queen's coronation banquet in 1953. It consists of cold chicken, curry cream and raisins in mayonnaise.
Horse Meat -- Well known for their love of raw fish a la sushi, the Japanese also love a relatively unknown delicacy known as Basashi, or raw horse meat. This ice cream not only tastes like horse, but contains chunks of horse flesh.
Salt and Pepper -- Offered by San Francisco ice cream shop Humphrey Slocombe.
Caviar -- Made with 60 percent white sturgeon Alverta Royal Petrossian caviar, and offered by gourmet French ice cream company Philippe Faur.
Cicada -- Sparky's Homemade Ice Cream in Columbia, Mo., sold out of its only batch of this insect-filled dessert within hours of its debut in 2011. Employees collected the bugs, removed their wings and boiled them and covered them in brown sugar and milk chocolate. The base ice cream was a brown sugar and butter flavor.
Squid Ink -- Found in Japan, the squid ink gives this creamy concoction its dark charcoal color.
Viagra -- The famed Heladería Coromoto ice cream shop in Mérida, Venezuela, produced this gem, made with secret ingredients rumored to be natural plant aphrodisiacs.
