SANTA MARIA, Calif. -

The Santa Barbara District Attorney's office announced Tuesday that it will not file criminal charges against any Santa Maria Police officers.
The D.A.'s office conducted its own investigation to determine if any officers involved in the shooting of fellow Officer Albert Covarrubias, Jr. committed any crimes.
The D.A. did not find any evidence against the officers.
However, Santa Maria police Chief, Ralph Martin did fire two managers and disciplined seven others in connection to the case.
Two sergeants shot and killed Covarrubias during an attempt to arrest him for sexual misconduct last January.
Since then, former police chief Dan Macagni retired after several requests from community members and officers to step down.
Martin made the decision after reviewing the internal affairs investigation, and after the District Attorney's Office declared the shooting to be justified.
Because of the police officers' bill of rights, the city will not disclose the names of the officers affected by the chief's decision.
