While immunizations are something we usually associate with babies and young children, adults need immunizations, too.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there are specific vaccinations recommended for adults. Some of these include:

Influenza (recommended for all adults)

Tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis (for adults who haven’t previously had the Tdap vaccine)

Shingles (for adults over 60)

Pneumococcal disease (for adults over 65 or for those with certain health conditions)

Hepatitis B (for adults with diabetes or for those who are at risk for hepatitis B)

In addition to these vaccines, the CDC also recommends that adults be vaccinated against the following diseases: human papillomavirus, hepatitis A, meningococcal disease, chickenpox, and measles, mumps and rubella.

Please seek the advice of your physician to determine with vaccines you may need.
